  • Pursuant to California Health and Safety Code Section 33100, there is in the City of Agoura Hills (the "city") a public body, corporate and politic, known as the redevelopment agency of the city. Pursuant to California Health and Safety Code Section 33101, such an agency shall not transact any business or exercise any powers under the Community Redevelopment Law (Part 1 of Division 24 of the California Health and Safety Code, commencing with Section 33000) unless, by ordinance, the city council declares there is need for such an agency to function in the city. Based upon the reports and information provided to the city council by its staff and consultants regarding conditions of economic dislocation, deterioration and disuse which exist within the city, the city council hereby declares that there is need for a redevelopment agency to function in the city. Such agency is hereby authorized to transact business and exercise powers under the Community redevelopment Law.
